Chimney Sweeping

• Certificated sweeping of Solid Fuel, Oil and Gas Flues on all Domestic and Commercial Properties
• Aga/Rayburn
• Conventional open fires to large inglenooks
• Using traditional rods, brushes and BVC industrial vacuum, leaving no mess
• Power Sweeping using modern HETAS approved equipment if the situation requires

Stove Maintenance

It is essential to carry out regular Inspection of your Stove or Fireplace in accordance to manufactures instruction to be safe and get the best performance and efficiency.

• Door glass and rope seal. Replace if needed
• Fire Bricks to check for cracks and general condition. Replace if broken or cracked
• Inspection and cleaning of air dampers and other internal stove components
• Inspection of stove pipe and spigot joint, Replace Sealant or Fire Cement if needed
• Inspection of register/closure plate. Reseal if Necessary
• Pot & Cowl Inspection

Nest Removal

Bird Nesting Material fully removed leaving the flue way clear of obstructions ready for the winter burning season all birds, their nest and eggs are protected by the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 and cannot be removed between May To September

Cowls Supplied and Fitted

Chimney Cowls are fitted for a number of reasons:

• To prevent rain water ingress
• Birds nesting
• Prevent downdraughts from affecting the performance of the appliance

Smoke Draw Test

A simple test to ascertain that the chimney is drawing effectively.There are several reasons for a chimney not drawing properly:

• A excessive build-up of soot / creosote or any other debris causing partial or full blockage
• Poorly Insulated Flue system i.e. external Chimney Breast
• Inadequate air supply
• Use of extractor fans
• Down draught being created by external influence such as nearby tree or tall building
• Incorrect Chimney Height

CO Alarms Supplied and Fitted

In Oct 2010 it became mandatory for a Carbon Monoxide Alarm (approved to BS EN 50291) to be fitted with every new heating appliance installed, whether it is Gas, Oil or Solid Fuel, an alarm should be fitted in every room there is an appliance.

Chimney Camera Inspections

Using a professional, fully recordable colour camera system, the Chimney Flue can be internally inspected to check the overall condition of the chimney and highlight and identify any blockages or problem areas.
